This is the foremost comprehensive book on the business of the media and entertainment trade that I actually have stumble upon nonetheless. The discussion in Chapter One on the economic principles and trends driving "leisure" time and spending was particularly attention-grabbing. The book goes on to hide movies, music, television, publishing, and even gambling quite well. This breadth of coverage was particularly useful, as each entertainment product will be thought of as competing for constant leisure greenbacks (to some extent).
The only space I found data lacking was the impact of the web. there's some discussion on how the web is changing the landscape, however not as deep and factual as i'd have liked. I hope that subsequent edition covers this facet a lot of totally.
All in all, a good resource for anyone making an attempt to know the business of entertainment.
